Conversations are always happening
Communication is a tricky word. In today’s world, it means much more than chatting, it is texting, tweeting, blogging and some even record video statements to share a message. Tons of these options allow people to respond, or engage with the creator of the message.-modern conversations?
The foundation of current communications tools are another layer to successul old fashioned marketing, tangible tools that someone can hold onto to send your message farther than you imagined-whether it be through a creative brochure, or newspaper advertisement that promotes more than you service, or simply the age-old handshake found through a professional commitment.
All communications efforts have one thing in common, they are defining your brand, talking about your organization without even opening your lips…….they inspire conversations to happen in all sorts of places and perhaps create interest to potential clients, or at the minimum secure your brand strength.
Being aware that conversations are always happening, whether you are there or not, should inspire you to take control of your message. Make it consistent, make it concise, make it count.

Smartphone Credit Cards?
We’ve talked about Apps and the importance of smart phones in today’s world and this will just solidify the smart phone as a consumer necessity. Bloomberg has reported that all major credit card companies are working on a way for consumers to authorize a payment at checkout via their smart phone. No more cards to carry around, no need for cash, just send a signal to the payment device and you are on your way. I’m all about having less things in my pockets and I know you ladies could stand a little more room in those Coach bags. We’ll see what comes of it in the future, there are still plenty of issues to work out with privacy, credit, and federal regulations but it’s definitely a step in a brand new direction.

Mobile Apps: Who cares?
So what’s the big deal? Yeah, I got this cool new “device” (not even called a phone anymore) that can friend, tweet, digg, tube, show me the closest hot dog stand, buy me movie tickets…you get the point. These things can do anything under the sun. So the question is…what can they do for your business?
Mobile Apps have started an entirely new industry. The mobile app market will grow from $1.94 billion in late 2009 to a massive $15.65 BILLION by 2013. That’s more than a 700% increase! Mobile internet usage is up 18% from last year to 38%. So as the mobile app market explodes…how does that involve your business?
Mobile apps may not be for every company, but in many cases your company can provide a better customer experience with a custom mobile app. Scheduling appointments and finding contact information quickly could be some of the basics. As a marketing company, JCI is always focused on “getting eyes on” our clients and then helping them capitalize on it. A custom mobile app that your customers voluntarily download gives you their full attention so you can promote current products, new services, and more. Sure, they may be following you on Facebook or Twitter but your post is one in thousands. When customers open your custom mobile app, you’ve got eyes dedicated to you. Get creative, give your customers some extra value and get your feet wet with mobile apps, they’re here to stay and provide a great new avenue to reach your customers.
Site Launch: AikensGroup.com
Aikens Group is a family-owned investment company with an expansive portfolio in both commercial and residential real estate, hotels, construction, and cranes based in Winchester, Virginia. They came to JCI and were curious to see if we could address a few issues they had with their current site. The overall website design did not portray the level of company the Aikens Group is, their was little to no SEO, maintenance had to be done by a trained staff member or 3rd party, and there was no way to capture leads.
JCI Media stepped right up to the plate and created this ultra-sleek website design based on their corporate branding and portraying the level of professionalism they desired. Then we wrapped that design around a WordPress install that we custom engineered into a content management system. After we finished that, we topped it off with a custom listings management system, active Google Maps based search, lead capturing system, staff directory, and crushed the SEO.
We had a great build and will continue our relationship as we help them with pay-per-click management, site optimization, and SEO.
